Principles for action
Whether you are leading a team, creating a presentation, negotiating a deal, managing a major organizational change or simply starting new exercise program, you have a choice as to how to feel, think and act about the things you are doing. Based on the choices you make, your day can be fulfilling, alive and inspiring to others or as miserable as you can imagine — it's your choice.

Authentic Connections services are based on 9 Principles of Action for living your life with more vitality, joy and inner confidence. We strongly believe that living with these principles changes you and those around you and makes for a better workplace and a better world. These principles are integrated into everything we do.

  1. Recognize Your Gifts as Your Mission: Step up, step forward and claim your essential power through acknowledgement of the things you offer to all of us that have the potential of making your world a better place. Then seek and accept responsibility for the highest purpose of these gifts.
  2. Inspire Yourself and Others: Inspiration starts from within — we breathe our spirit and liveliness into the world. This is literally what happens! Your breath and how you breathe is a source of calmness and wisdom. The words you speak and how you speak them have the power to gracefully move yourself and others to meaningful action.
  3. Invite Openness: It makes us stronger, safer and more confident. Opening within invites openness in others and this creates safety and confidence around us. This safety and confidence leads to vital individual and team action, higher levels of creativity and trustable relationships.
  4. Connect with Yourself and the World Around You: Our authenticity is mirrored in the eyes of those we touch. Connection starts inside — do we know who we really are and are we able to connect from this place to the way we act in the world? From this level of awareness we are able to truly see and interact with others in our lives and the larger reality that surrounds us all.
  5. Choose Compassion: In every interaction there is a basic choice — to assume the best or worst about what we perceive. Choosing a compassionate stance starts with assuming the best in what we see, feel and intuit. Acting from this compassion creates the greatest possibility for understanding, trust and receptivity.
  6. Tell the Truth: Seems easy, doesn't it? Yet we live in a complex world with complex relationships the pressures of which, at times, makes simple integrity a daily challenge. Being truthful in the world starts with being truthful within yourself — overcoming one's own self-deceptions and accepting with compassion what you find beneath.
  7. Create Clarity: At the heart of clarity is the ability to listen. It begins with listening to your self — unwinding the inner conflicts that can cloud your thoughts and actions. It is only then that we can truly listen to others and support them in creating their own clarity.
  8. Use Your Power to Empower: Power is always a double-edged sword, available to all of us for use as a force for domination or as way to set free the energy in ourselves and others to be our best and truest selves: You can lead from light or lead from shadow — it's your choice.
  9. Find Your Own Path: Your skills, wisdom and joy are needed and it is the task for all of us to discover how to share them. That means having the courage to own your uniqueness and fully be your best.
